DEPARTURE TO GREECE
Today we depart from ORT for Greece.

Day 1: ARRIVE IN GREECE/ACROPOLIS
Arrive in Athens. Meet our representative and transfer to hotel. In the evening, enjoy an unforgettable sound and light show on the Acropolis. The show will be followed by dinner in Plaka, facing the Acropolis, with bouzouki music and Greek folk dances. Return to hotel.

Day 2: CORINTH/MYCENAE
Leave Athens by the coastal road of the Corinth Canal. Drive to Mycenae. View the beauty of Agamemnon’s Greece in the famous Gate of the Lions and the Acropolis. Afterwards, visit the famous theater of Epidaurus, built 2400 years ago and the nearby healing center dedicated to Asclepius, the God of Healing.

Day 3: TRIPOLI/MEGALOPOLIS/OLYMPIA
Drive in the morning through the Central Peloponnese, Arcadia – home of Pan and the Nymphs – and the towns of Tripoli and Megalopolis, to Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games. Visit the sanctuary known as the Altis which consists of an unordered arrangement of various buildings. Enclosed within the temenos (sacred enclosure) are the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Zeus, the Pelopion, and the area of the altar where the sacrifices were made.

Day 4: ANTIRIO/DELPHI

Drive through the plains of Ilia and Achaea through Patras, capital of the Peloponnese, and cross the Rio-Antirrio, one of the world’s longest multi-span cable-stayed bridges and longest of the fully suspended type. Onwards, past picturesque Nafpaktos (Lepanto), stop at the seaside areas of Erateini or Itea for swimming and optional lunch. After lunch, arrive in Delphi and visit Castalian Spring and the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia.

Day 5: KALAMBAKA

In the morning, visit the Temple of Apollo Pythios and the museum. Depart for Kalambaka, passing through numerous picturesque villages and typical towns of central Greece.

Day 6: METEORA

Visit Meteora. Amid striking scenery, perched atop huge rocks which seem to be suspended in mid-air, stand ageless monasteries. View exquisite specimens of Byzantine Art. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylae. Visit Leonidas Monument and spas of Kamena Vourla. Arrive in Athens early in the evening and return to hotel. Later, wine and dine Greek style! Continue to the Old Stables, situated in the wine-growing district of Athens. During dinner, enjoy special entertainment by Greek musicians, singers and dancers wearing spectacular costumes.

Day 7: ATHENS/ACROPOLIS/PARTHENON

A morning tour of Athens. Visit the center of Athens, Constitution Square, Parliament House, Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library. Driving down Herod Atticus Street, see the Evzones (Greek Presidential Guard) in their picturesque uniforms and the Presidential Palace. See the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first Olympic Games were held in 1896, and the Athens of the 2nd century A.D. – the Temple of the Olympian Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. On the Acropolis, visit its museum and the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon.

Day 8: FLIGHT HOME
Transfer to the airport for a flight home.

Visit the Acropolis and the Parthenon temple, rises above the city. Walk along pedestrian walkway linking the city’s ancient monuments; the marble temples, Byzantine churches and ancient theatres. Not to be missed the Marvel at the Agora, the Royal Palace, Hadrian’s Arch and the Acropolis Museum. Take a cruise to Greek Islands: Mykonos, Kusadasi & Ephesus (Turkey), Patmos, Rhodes (Greece), Heraklion (Crete), Santorini.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Athens arrival
Upon arrival at Athens Airport meet with our representative and transfer to your hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure and overnight in Athens.

Day 2: Athens- Acropolis and the New Museum
Begin with a panoramic drive of the city visiting the Panathenaic Stadium (modern Olympic Games), the Prime Minister’s residence (ex Royal Palace) guarded by the Evzones in their colourful uniforms, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma) Continue with a guided tour of the Acropolis, the Propylea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon. Then proceed to the New Acropolis museum for a guided visit. Continue to the Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library. On your way to the Acropolis you will see the Hadrian’s Arch, visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and you will make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896.

In the evening, we take a short panoramic drive through the City Center and at the slope of the sacred hill you will be able to see, admire and photo the illuminated Acropolis. Then a pleasant walk through the narrow picturesque streets of Plaka, the old city, will bring you at a Typical Greek Tavern where you will enjoy your dinner following a floor show with live music and Greek Folk Dances in traditional costumes.

Day 3: Athens- Santorini
Breakfast in the hotel. Early in the morning you will be transferred to Piraeus port. Embarkation on your ferry and sail off to Santorini Island. Upon arrival in Santorini transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure and overnight in Santorini.

Day 4: Santorini
Breakfast in the hotel. Take the day free at leisure to discover this island of unique beauty, famous worldwide as one of the most romantic destinations. Walk around the picturesque Fira Town and the famous Oia, visit the Volcano and the Akrotiri excavations and swim in one of the plenty volcanic beaches. Optional choice to explore the island of Santorini with one of the plenty tours provided

Day 5: Santorini- Mykonos
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Santorini port. Embarkation and sail off to Mykonos. Upon arrival at Mykonos port transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure and overnight in Mykonos

Day 6: Mykonos
Breakfast in the hotel. Take the day free at leisure spending them in some of the many cosmopolite sandy beaches of the island, shopping or discovering the famous for its white washed houses and vivid night life, Mykonos Town. Optional choice to explore the island of Mykonos or visit the nearby islands of Tinos and Delos with one of the plenty tours provided.

Day 7: Mykonos- Athens
Breakfast in the hotel
Check out and transfer to Mykonos port. Ferry embarkation and sail off to Piraeus port- Athens. Upon arrival at Piraeus port transfer to your hotel in Athens. Rest of the day at leisure.
