1 Day 1 – Athens – Arrival

Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, our representative el will meet and assist you with your transfer by taxi (not included in tour rate) to the hotel. Rest of the day for leisure.

2 Day 2 – Athens City Tour

The striking contrast between breathtaking monuments of a glorious past and modern elegant structures, is what you will enjoy during your tour of Athens. Visit the Acropolis, the crowning beauty and glory of Ancient Athens, with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylea, the temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion, with its Porch of Maidens. Drive to the Roman Temple of Olympic Zeus, the Panathinaikon Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896), the Tomb of Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square. See views of government buildings and elegant structures of the 19th century. Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and view the Roman Catholic Cathedral St. Denis, the neo classical buildings of the Academy, the University, the National Library. Conclude your tour with a visit to the new Acropolis Museum, a marvel of architecture with a full exhibition of the glory of classical ancient Athens.

3 Day 3 – Corinth Canal

Today on the itinerary is a journey to Corinth via the famous Corinthian Canal, followed by a tour of the church established there by Apostle Paul. Other sites in Corinth include the Agora, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Odeon, the Bema, and Gallio’s Seat. Next stop is a visit to the Archaeological museum and a tour of the ruins of a 5th century Christian basilica at the Ancient Port of Cenchreae.

4 Day 4 – Saronic Gulf Cruise

This portion of our tour features a one-day Saronic Gulf cruise to the islands of Hydra, Poros & Aegina. Hydra features an optional excursion to the Temple of Aphaia, a spectacular well-preserved temple from ancient times. Next stop is Poros, the location of the first naval arsenal in independent Greece. The last port of call is Hydra, a fashionable artists’ colony, retreat of intellectuals and favourite film location.

5 Day 5 – Athens – Departure

Transfer by taxi (not included in tour rate) to Athens International Airport for departure flight.
