The recorded history of the Holy Land is more than 5,000 years tells us that this region was never quiet and peaceful. In old maps, Jerusalem is shown as the center of the world, dividing Europe, Asia, and Africa. One conqueror after another poured into the Holy Land in an attempt to gain control over the trade routes and the holy sites sacred to the Jewish people and Christianity. These attempts intensified when the Crusaders conquered the region.
The Roman historian mention very short in the last chapters of one of his books about Jesus. Jesus the son of the carpenter Joseph and his wife Mary was born in Bethlehem in a manger because “there was no room in the inn” as the Gospels teach us. He spent his childhood in Nazareth and established his ministry in Capernaum known as his “Home Town”. From here he chose his Disciples, preached and performed his miracles. Jesus gained recognition in the Galilee and Jerusalem and eventually died on the Cross in Golgatha. His life and teaching affected hundreds of millions of believers all over the world.
